General- Who is WinOptics for ?
WinOptics is a store management software for opticians and optometrists in charge of a practice or who need to manage a clientele. It is a dedicated software in the way that it was designed specifically for opticians and optometrists and it addresses their unique needs.
- What is the demo version ?
The demo version, which you can download for free on this website, is a complete version of the software. The only limitation is that you will not be able to input more than 25 records in the database tables (for example 25 clients or 25 inventory items). This should be sufficient to evaluate the software and verify whether it will fulfill your needs. In such a case and if you decide to purchase a license, we will send you a user key. You will only need to enter this key in the software to remove this limitation. You will not even need to reinstall the software or re-introduce the records already in your database.
- I would like to have a phone conversation, is it possible ?
YES. Although we provide our services primarily via the internet, it is always possible to have a phone conversation with one of our representatives. If you wish to have such a conversation, please send us an email with your contact information. We will contact you promptly.
- Are suppliers lenses catalogs included ?
YES. You will be able to download the catalogs for most suppliers from our website at the following link. They are regularly updated.
Please note that downloading the catalogs is not possible in the demo version. This feature is reserved to registered users.
- Do I need internet to use WinOptics ?
NO. You don't need to have internet in your store to use WinOptics. However, it is strongly recommended. Updates for both the software and the suppliers catalogs, as well as all information concerning the software will be communicated to you via the internet. Also, internet will allow us to connect to your computer, at your request, and fix technical problems or send you files. A fast internet connection is recommended.
| | Buying and payments- How can I purchase WinOptics ?
If you have tried the demo version and if WinOptics fulfills your needs, you can purchase a user key and you will be able to use WinOptics with no limitation.
You can purchase the key online from this website and you will receive your key a couple of seconds after your order is approved.
Besides, purchasing the key entitles you to benefit from our complimentary technical support and updates for one year as of the purchase date. This service can be renewed on an annual basis.
- What is the user key ?
The user key is a unique and personal identifyer defined by a numeric code. You will have to input this code in the software to remove the limitations of the demo version.
To input the user key, click on the button 'Introduce a key' on the welcome screen, when the program starts. You can also do it by clicking on the menu Help|Activate the software.
- Can I pay securely ?
YES. The payment is managed and controlled by an independent party, Worldpay, world leader in credit card processing. All transactions are securely handled. We have no access to your credit card data.
- Is there another payment option than my credit card ?
YES. Even though paying with a credit card over the internet is a safe and fast way to pay, we provide you with the option to pay us with a bank wire transfer. Please note that this method may induce additional costs and a delay that can vary from 2 to 7 days before you receive your user key.
Please also note that we do not accept checks.
- How will I know whether my payment is received ?
As soon as your payment is processed, you will receive a confirmation message from WorldPay indicating the amount, the date, and the transaction reference. If the payment is refused for any reason, WorldPay will give you an explanation.
- Can I receive a refund if I am not satisfied ?
The demo version gives you the possibility to try the software as much as you like before you make your purchase decision. Additionally, you can also contact us and ask for any information before you make your decision.
If for any reason you decide after purchase not to use WinOptics anymore, we will refund you, provided you communicate your decision within seven business days following the purchase. Processing and transfer fees of USD35 will be deducted from the amount.
- I need an invoice. How can I get one ?
An invoice will automatically be sent to you via Email at the time of your purchase. If you have not received it, or if you need a copy, please contact us.
- Can I trust a product distributed over the internet ?
Distributing WinOptics over the internet enables us to reduce our costs substantially and provide our clients with a powerful and high quality software at a price much lower than our direct competitors. It also enables us to focus our resources on servicing customers via our technical support.

| Problems and errors- Decimals are not taken into account
WinOptics uses the dot as the symbol for decimals. Verify that numeric values have been defined correctly in the control panel's regional settings of your computer.
